Our History

The Mighty Theta Lambda Lamnbda Chapter of Omega Psi Fraternity has lived up to its promise.

Humble Beginnings

In mid-1999, a few Omega men who live in Coweta and Fayette counties began to address the question of whether there was a need for another Omega chapter in Metro Atlanta. These men of strong will found that these rapidly growing areas were completely under-served by Omega. These fraternity bothers started the process of assessment and research, through various community organizations - chamber of commerce, public school systems, churhces, community officials, etc. - unveiling a terrific opportunity to promote the purpose and ideals of the Fraternity.

News of the impending formation of the Coweta-Fayette Chapter took flight. Organizational meetings attended by a mere two brothers grew to 26 charter members. With a broad range of backgrounds, these Omega men identified mentoring, scholarship assistance, and social action as the primary programs on which it should focus. All participated in developing the necessary application material for submission to and review by the District Office and International Headquarters.

Who We Are!

On January 7, 2002, the Chapter received official notification of approval and its chapter. The chapter was designated Theta Lambda Lambda (TLL). Twenty six charter members, community representatives, family, and friends celebrated the chartering at a formal cermony on April 20, 2002.

Committed to Scholarship

In the Fall of 2003, the TLL Chapter established the Theta Lambda Lambda Foundation, Inc., a Non-Profit Organization, under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code. The Foundation enables us to better support and maintain our scholarship program.

Since Our Inception

The TLL Chapter has lived up to its promise. We have embarked upon mentoring on a grand scale, nuturing young men across five counties. To date, we have awarded in excess of $130,000 in scholarship assistance to deserving high school sudents.
